In The Fate of the Furious, also known as Fast & Furious 8, Dominic “Dom” Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, is on his honeymoon with Letty Ortiz in Havana when he is coerced by a cyberterrorist named Cipher, poretrayed by Charlize Theron. Cipher reveals that she has kidnapped Dom’s ex-lover Elena Neves and their son, forcing him to betray his team.
Dom steals an EMP device during a mission with his crew, which includes Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), and others. As Dom works for Cipher, his team struggles to understand his actions and attempts to bring him back. The plot thickens as they discover Cipher’s plan to hijack a nuclear submarine.
