In Kill Bill: Volume 1, the story follows the Bride, played by Uma Thurman, a former member of the Deadly Viper assassination squad who seeks revenge on her former associates and their leader, Bill, after they attack her during her wedding, leaving her for dead. The Bride awakens from a coma four years later and embarks on a mission to eliminate those who wronged her. She confronts Vernita Green, crosses off her name from the kill list, and then heads to Tokyo to face O-Ren Ishii, the leader of the yakuza. The movie culminates in a violent showdown between The Bride and O-Ren Ishii at a Japanese restaurant where The Bride emerges victorious after an intense battle.
