For Love or Money

Overview
“For Love or Money,” originally titled “The Revenger: An Unromantic Comedy,” is a romantic comedy that subverts traditional rom-com tropes. The film follows Mark, a 30-year-old man who is about to sell his start-up company for £20 million. He has long harbored feelings for Connie, an old school crush who re-enters his life just as he is on the verge of a major financial windfall.

Plot Development
As Mark reconnects with Connie, he is blissfully unaware that she has ulterior motives. Connie, portrayed as a beautiful but shallow character, is actually scheming with Johnny, a banker played by Ed Speleers, to swindle Mark out of his impending fortune. Their plan involves pretending to be in love with Mark while plotting to take advantage of his wealth.

However, the story takes a turn when Mark discovers Connie’s true intentions. Feeling betrayed and hurt, he decides to turn the tables on her and make her life difficult in retaliation. This leads to a series of comedic and absurd situations where Mark seeks revenge against Connie’s deceitful actions.

Character Dynamics
Throughout the film, various characters contribute to the unfolding drama and humor. Kendra, played by Rachel Hurd-Wood, serves as Mark’s moral compass amidst the chaos. The film also features comedic elements through supporting characters like Tim (Tony Way), who adds levity with his antics.

Ultimately, “For Love or Money” explores themes of infatuation versus genuine connection while delivering humor through its unconventional narrative style and character interactions.
