Bride Wars” follows the story of two childhood best friends, Emma Allan (played by Anne Hathaway) and Olivia “Liv” Lerner (played by Kate Hudson), who have always dreamed of getting married at the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City. Their plans take a chaotic turn when both women get engaged on the same day and inadvertently schedule their weddings for the same date due to a clerical error by their wedding planner, Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen).

As neither friend is willing to compromise on their dream wedding date, they quickly descend into a bitter rivalry, engaging in a series of increasingly outrageous pranks to sabotage each other’s weddings. This includes hair dye disasters, spray tan mishaps, and embarrassing public confrontations. Throughout this escalating feud, both women struggle with their relationships: Emma grapples with her controlling fiancé Fletcher (Chris Pratt), while Liv’s relationship with her boyfriend Daniel (Steve Howey) becomes strained.

The climax occurs on their wedding day when Emma’s video montage goes awry, leading to a physical confrontation between the two brides. In this moment of chaos, they realize how far they’ve strayed from their friendship and ultimately decide to call off their weddings. The film concludes one year later when they meet up as friends again, both pregnant and excited about their futures.
