Plot Summary
“Where Is the Friend’s House?” is a 1987 Iranian drama film directed by Abbas Kiarostami. The story revolves around a conscientious schoolboy named Ahmad, who accidentally takes his friend Mohammad Reza’s notebook home after school. When Ahmad realizes that his friend is at risk of expulsion for not submitting his homework, he embarks on a quest to return the notebook to Mohammad Reza’s house in a neighboring village.

Throughout his journey, Ahmad encounters various adults who are either indifferent or unable to assist him in locating his friend’s home. His determination is evident as he navigates through false leads and distractions, all while facing the challenges of childhood and the indifference of the adult world around him. As night falls and he has yet to find Mohammad Reza’s house, Ahmad returns home and completes his friend’s homework himself.
