The story begins in 1998 when Joel, a 17-year-old boy, receives the exciting news of his admission to the prestigious Santa Agnes International College in Lubango, Angola. This moment is initially filled with joy and promise for Joel. However, his dream quickly turns into a nightmare as he becomes a target for bullying by both classmates and teachers. The situation escalates tragically with the death of his mother, which deeply impacts Joel’s life.
In search of a better future and to escape his painful past, Joel relocates to New York City. There, he transforms his life dramatically, becoming wealthy and meticulously planning his return to Angola. His primary motivation is revenge against those who wronged him during his formative years.
Fast forward to 2014; Joel returns to Luanda with a vengeance in mind. The individuals who caused him pain have since established successful lives with families and businesses. As he embarks on his quest for retribution, he encounters Jamila, his first love from the past. This unexpected reunion complicates his plans as he grapples with conflicting emotions—whether to pursue love or continue on the path of vengeance.
